This disk is public domain and can be copied,given away and
generally used as a beer mat so long as the files;
READ_ME.NOW
CONTENTS.DS1
remain on the disk. . . . thank you and enjoy !
Some time in 1990 I purchased a program called NEOchrome
from the PUBLIC DOMAIN and after much clicking "n" pointing I
finally mastered the program.
As I saw it not a lot of documentation was available for
this program so I set about writing down my thoughts and what I
had learned from my use of the program.
Due to various other projects I decided to pick it back up
due to a friends asking my advice about art programs.So this is
it. . . . How do I use it I here you say? Couldn't be easier, on
the disk you will find 24 NEO picture files,just load your copy
of NEOchrome into your ST and load in LESSON01.NEO.
FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO DON'T KNOW HOW TO LOAD A FILE INTO
NEOchrome;
*When NEOchrome art package is loaded you will see that a
MENUBAR covers half of the screen.On this MENUBAR you should see
in the bottom left hand side,15 boxes containing various icons.
*Using the right hand mouse button click on the icon that
looks like a disk,you should now be presented with the standard
ATARI file selector box. . . . now load LESSON01.NEO
Even if you are very familiar with NEOchrome I would suggest
that you work through the lessons to enable you to understand the
way/abbreviations used within the tutorial,and who knows you might
learn something you didn't know.
An extra lesson called SAVELESN.NEO has been added to this
disk,I have deliberately not numbered this lesson as you are free
to load it when you feel confident enough to use a few tools and
draw on screen.
I did plan to include a version of NEOchrome on this or
disk2, however as ATARI in their ultimate wisdom have decided
that NEOchrome is not public domain you will have to "purchase"
your own copy.
I certainly hope that this tutorial is of benefit to you
and that you also check out disk2 for further explanation of ;
TEXT
MISCELLANY
PATTERN FILLS
COLOUR CYCLING
COLOUR SWAPPING
and ANIMATION
I also plan a third disk to cover the now infamous NEOchrome
Master program and its ability to display 10 screens,more than 16
colours on one screen plus lots of other new bits.
Should the response to this type of tutorial be forthcoming
I may write other tutorials covering other art programs. . . . .
. . Its in your hands ! ! ! !
Write to me enclosing your address (on your letter) and a
loose first class stamp ,please do not enclose self
addressed stamped envelopes as I use my own packaging for return
correspondence.My address again is
